Kitchen Sink Pocket Orchestra is a performance ensemble.
We’re at our best with an audience in front of us — listening, laughing and wondering what on earth we’re going to play next.

We don’t need a traditional stage. Just enough room for four musicians and an audience ready to listen.

What does a KSPO show look like?
Every performance is a little different. We build programs from our ever-growing collection of classical music, original works, rock, pop, folk and fiddle tunes, choosing music that suits the audience, venue and occasion.
Along the way, we talk to the audience, tell a few stories and generally let them in on the fun. It’s still a concert — just one where the distance between performers and audience feels a little smaller.
We can work with presenters to shape program length, repertoire and format to suit the event. Every performance is shaped around the audience, the venue and the occasion—but it’s always unmistakably KSPO.

The practical stuff.
A few things you might be wondering before you get in touch.
Performance Length
Most KSPO shows are two 45-minute sets with an intermission — but we’re flexible. Need something shorter? Longer? A little different? We’re happy to shape the performance to suit your event.
Space & Setup
We travel light—for an orchestra.
We typically set up in a semicircle with three armless chairs, a high stool for the bass and our own music stands. If you’re wondering whether we’ll fit your venue, chances are we probably will.
Sound & Amplification
Most of the time, what you hear is what you get — no amplification required. For larger venues, outdoor performances or situations where a little extra help might be useful, we’re happy to talk through the options with you.
Indoor & Outdoor Performances
Indoors? Easy. Outdoors can be pretty magical with the right weather, the right setting and a little planning. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll talk through what will make it work.
Travel
We already live rather enthusiastically spread across British Columbia, so travel is in our nature. We’re happy to go farther afield, too — just keep in mind that the farther you take us from home, the more likely travel costs will become part of the conversation.
